This is a true-crime story about a south
Georgia farm boy who wanted to grow up to be the best bank burglar and
bank robber in the country. Foster Sellers’ numerous crimes eventually
got him on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list. He was associated with many
Dixie Mafia crimes, and he cleverly evaded capture for many years,
including hiding in Central America.
Howard Coffin was a pioneer in the American
automobile industry, having helped found three successful automobile
manufacturing companies. He used his wealth to purchase Sapelo Island,
off the Georgia coast, and he later developed resort facilities on St.
Simons Island, Georgia, and Sea Island, Georgia. During World War I,
Coffin served as a member of President Wilson’s unofficial wartime
cabinet and helped direct development of warplanes and engines.
